Former otolaryngology resident and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellow, Shaun Desai, MD received the Ben Shuster Memorial Research Award for best fellowship research paper. Dr. Desai present his work, Thirty-Day Hospital Revisit Rates and Factors Associated with Revisits In Patients Undergoing Septorhinoplasty, at the 2017 Fall Meeting of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, held in Phoenix, October 26-28.
Dr. Desai is currently an assistant professor of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in the Johns Hopkins Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He also serves at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital and is a consulting surgeon for the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Desai is board certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
