Section 691: The basal turn of the cochlea (c) has appeared along with the internal auditory meatus (IAM). Note the crista falciforma (CF) divides the IAM into superior and inferior compartments. The tensor tympani muscle (ttm) is seen in the epitympanum inferior to the anterior portion of the tympanic segment (VIId) of the facial nerve. The cochlear aqueduct (ca) is traversing the temporal bone to surface inferior to the internal auditory meatus.
