ORIGIN of COCHLEAR AQUEDUCT

Section 601: The perilymph-filled vestibule (v) is contiguous with scala vestibuli (sv) of the hook portion of the cochlea. The origin of the cochlear aqueduct (ca) from scala tympani (st) can be seen; this duct connects scala tympani to the subarachnoid space. The tendon of the tensor tympani muscle (ttt) can seen running from medial to lateral across the middle space. The tympanic membrane has been artifactually ruptured. - Tympanic segment of facial nerve; p - Promontory.
