Section 601: The perilymph-filled vestibule (v) is contiguous with scala
vestibuli (sv) of the hook portion of the cochlea. The origin
of the cochlear aqueduct (ca) from scala tympani (st) can be
seen; this duct connects scala tympani to the subarachnoid space. The tendon of
the tensor tympani muscle (ttt) can seen running from medial to lateral
across the middle space. The tympanic membrane has been artifactually ruptured.
