The Multi-Disciplinary Surgical Simulation Lab provides a state-of-the-art platform for hands-on education of surgical trainees in the departments of otolaryngology, neurosurgery and ophthalmology.
The lab features the latest equipment and audiovisual resources to enhance the surgical training of medical students, residents, fellows and trained practitioners in the interrelated fields. Fourteen independent workstations provide surgical microscopes, endoscopes, drills, suction/irrigation and a variety of instruments.
Cadaveric and fabricated models allow students to learn and practice relevant anatomy and procedures in a risk-free environment. Integrated high definition cameras provide still image and video recordings of surgical and endoscopic procedures for both real-time and archival review.
A touch screen router provides audiovisual integration of all 14 stations, maximizing the exposure of participants to varied surgical experiences and conditions.
