"My experience at Washington University has been excellent. There are routinely scheduled cadaveric anatomy courses, early operative opportunities, and a wealth of faculty support. We provide care for a diverse patient population and a variety of diseases."
Hometown: Cedar Rapids Iowa
Personal statement: I chose WashU for a number of reasons. They have an excellent team of residents and treat a wide variety of patients. The department has strong support for resident research and hands-on experiences. The residents have strong relationships between classes as well as with the faculty. My research interests include head and neck cancer prevention and post surgical quality of life. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing guitar, organized sports, and reading science fiction novels.
