ENT chief residents make next career decisions

Chief residents in the Washington University Department of Otolaryngology have made their next important career choices – what they will be doing post-residency.

Avi Ettyreddy, MD

Avi Ettyreddy, MD, will enter a neurotology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

“I chose neurotology because I enjoy the combination of surgical and clinical management of patients with hearing loss,” said Dr. Ettyreddy. “As a resident, I was amazed at the impact cochlear implants could have on the quality of life for these patients. Furthermore, I liked having the opportunity to work with both adult and pediatric patients.“

Allison Slijepcevic, MD

Allison Slijepcevic, MD, will pursue a fellowship in facial plastics with an emphasis in microvascular reconstruction at Oregon Health Sciences University.

“I enjoy taking care of head and neck cancer patients,” said Dr. Slijepcevic. “I look forward to learning the complex technical aspects of microvascular reconstruction and the creative new techniques used to reconstruct complex head and neck defects.”

Rajan Dang, MD

Rajan Dang, MD, will stay in the St. Louis area and join Washington University as a comprehensive otolaryngologist.

“I wanted to go into comprehensive practice because I enjoy the full spectrum of otolaryngology,” said Dr. Dang. “I will be splitting my time between the VA Hospital and the growing practice at Christian Hospital Northeast.”

Parul Sinha, MD

Parul Sinha, MD, is looking forward to her fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FPRS) at UT Houston McGovern Medical School.

“I appreciate being able to bring contentment to patients, and to improve their quality of life with a unique offering of aesthetic and functional interventions,” said Dr. Sinha. “The program at UT Houston offers a comprehensive training across the breadth of the sub-specialty. I look forward to not only getting well-rounded FPRS training, but also to living together as a family when my daughter and I join my husband who currently works in Houston.”
