Graduation ceremonies for the Department of Otolaryngology at Washington University School of Medicine were held June 21 at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis.
The evening’s festivities celebrated graduating chief residents Katherine Chang, MD, Aisling Last, MD, Sampat Sindhar, MD, MSCI, Ben Wahle, MD, and Nneoma Wamkpah, MD, MSCI. Wahle and Wamkpah were also recognized for their two additional years of research fellowship.
Lindburg Professor and Chair Craig Buchman, MD, acknowledged the clinical and research accomplishments of each of the chiefs for the audience of family and friends, which included several recent alumni.
Fellowship directors similarly celebrated our four graduating fellows who spent the past year in advanced specialized surgical training. Emily Spataro, MD, reviewed the accomplishments of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellow Sai Challapalli, MD. Kate Dunsky, MD, highlighted the fellowship experience of Pediatric Otolaryngology fellow Ashley Lloyd, MD. Patrik Pipkorn, MD, and Sid Puram, MD, PhD, highlighted the achievements of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology fellows Zaid Al-Qurayshi, MBChB, and Tara Mokhtari, MD.
