The Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction Program within the Department of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery has a long standing history of providing exemplary care and state of the art surgical innovation within the multidisciplinary context of head and neck cancer care. We are accepting international trainees and physicians to visit Washington University School of Medicine for 1-2 month periods for the purpose of observing faculty in the Head & Neck Surgery Program. During this clinical observership, we will arrange for you to spend time with faculty in the operating room, outpatient clinics, and in our weekly multidisciplinary tumor board. Since this is an educational experience, you will not be involved in any direct patient hands-on care as a clinical observer. You may participate in all of the educational activities, such as Otolaryngology conferences and rounds.

If interested to participate as a clinical observer in Head & Neck Surgery, please send a request with your Curriculum Vitae to Dr. Jose Zevallos, Chief of Head & Neck Surgery at jpzevallos@wustl.edu.
If accepted to participate as an observer, we will then forward the necessary documents for you to complete for review and approval by our International Office prior to arranging any plans to participate. Other documents required include: Confidentiality and HIPAA agreements, proof of health insurance, TB testing documentation within 1 year, and other background checks.

Please note that as a clinical observer, you are responsible for obtaining the appropriate VISA (if required), as well as your own travel and housing during your stay. You will be responsible to cover your own expenses during your visit as a clinical observer, and there will be no financial support from Washington University School of Medicine.
Sincerely,

Jose P. Zevallos, MD, MPH
