What is your current position, and how long have you been with WashU Medicine?
I currently serve as a patient services representative. I have been with Otolaryngology at WashU Medicine for 24 years. I have done many things over the years in this department. I was the front desk lead at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital location, where I worked on the billing side in the pre-arrival department. Before that I was in California and worked in retail management to pay for my education. I was also a surgical assistant for Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. I moved back to St. Louis after that and worked in the surgery and burn unit at St. Louis Children’s hospital.

What do you like most about your work?
I enjoy taking care of our patients and their families most. I feel like I’m accomplishing something worthwhile and meaningful. I love making them smile and cheering them up! I love all the girls I work with; they are like family to me. And, I feel honored to work with the best physicians in the world. We are the DREAM TEAM, and together we are UNSTOPPABLE!
How would you describe life in your household?
Life in my household is very busy, always on the move, trying to balance work and personal responsibilities.
Do you have a favorite activity or pastime?

My favorite activities are shopping, swimming, and belly dancing. I like learning something new every day, going to estate sales and investing to secure my financial future for when I retire. Together with my husband, we have also enjoyed rehabbing houses, painting and record collecting.
Is there something special at the top of your bucket list?
The top of my bucket list is taking a trip to Germany where my family came from and then traveling around the country in an air stream or motor home. At some point, I would also like to spend a year in Hawaii!
