2019 Holiday Outreach

We want to thank all of you who have generously participated in the Holiday Outreach Program, an annual community outreach initiative coordinated by the Washington University Medical Center Redevelopment Corporation (WUMCRC). The program gives participating departments of the Washington University School of Medicine, BJC medical campus, and others an opportunity to aid in our mission of stabilizing neighborhoods surrounding the medical campus and assist a family in need.

The 38 families participating in the program this year reside primarily in the Forest Park Southeast and Central West End neighborhoods. One hundred percent of donations received go towards assisting these families. All donations are tax deductible. To learn more visit the WUMCRC website.

The Department of Otolaryngology once again adopted a family to support this holiday season. Family #7 consists of Marilyn, her son Gerold, and his two children.  Marilyn suffers from EM or Erythema multiforme which is a rare and painful skin disorder that flares up and leaves lesions all over her body.  It is very difficult to manage, and her son has moved in to take care of her.  He has 2 children she adores, and they make her very happy.  When she has an outbreak, she cannot work, so this has placed the family in a difficult financial situation.  All of your gifts and financial contributions are so appreciated.

For more information or to make a last minute donation, please see Emily Harvey (9906 McMillan Hospital, 314-362-7667) or Carolyn Carbery (8805H McMillan Hospital, 314-362-7395).
