Washington University’s top ranked Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences awarded 14 Doctor of Audiology degrees and eight Master of Science in Deaf Education degrees this year.

Audiology and deaf education graduates walked in a combined in-person ceremony for the School of Medicine on Friday, May 20. The same afternoon, the Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences recognized its own graduates during a Commencement Recognition Ceremony held at the Eric P. Newman Center on the medical school campus. The program also celebrated the graduation of six undergraduate students who received a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences.

According to Director of Audiology Amanda Ortmann, PhD, PACS faculty members are enormously proud of the 22 graduates who have excelled during their training here at Washington University.

“The commencement ceremony was a time to celebrate with the graduates and their families,” she said. “Now, as our colleagues in the field of audiology or deaf education, these graduates are going to take our mission of improving the lives of people who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families to clinics and schools all over the country.”
