ENT residents secure top fellowships

montage of chief residents

Four chief residents in the Department of Otolaryngology at Washington University have been selected for prestigious fellowship programs, pursuing advanced surgical training in head and neck cancer and facial plastic surgery.

Almost 80 percent of WashU’s recent ENT graduates pursue fellowship training, compared to the national average that has ranged from 40 to 60 percent. According to Residency Program Director Judith Lieu, MD, this is a strong indication of the program’s focus on preparing residents for careers in academic medicine.
