Pedal the Cause… Come back or join for the first time!

You are invited to participate in the Department of Otolaryngology team Heads Up for this year’s Pedal the Cause on Sept. 25 and 26.

Out for a practice ride, from left: Craig Buchman, MD, Michael Chicoine, MD, Matthew Shew, MD, and Nedim Durakovic, MD.

Participants—including kids—can choose to walk, run, spin, ride a bike or volunteer. While last year’s event was held virtually, there are plans for an in-person Pedal the Cause fundraising event this fall. We are incredibly excited for this opportunity to raise money for an important cause while enjoying the great outdoors! Read more about last year’s successful virtual fundraising event and read on to learn how you can become a member on our team.

Let’s make it fun!

For any team member, we have a social/training event on Aug. 21 at the Chesterfield levee to get us out on the road together. You can ride 30, 16, or 8 miles (with different start times) or walk any distance and meet back at 10:00 a.m. for bagels and brew(-ed coffee). This is a perfect way to meet each member on the team, whether you are a new or seasoned participant.

New year, new gear!

All adult riders will get a free team bike jersey for the event. The new design is fantastic!

Raise money to fight cancer

Joining our commitment to a world without cancer, participants set their own fundraising goals. Our Pedal the Cause family is dedicated to supporting cancer research and providing the funds to help those in need. As part of our fundraising efforts, 100% of participant-raised dollars will directly fund this vital research. We are proud of our past team members and their accomplishments!
